110MM Madness

These are photos that I developed from one of two rolls that I found in my jewellery box when I was cleaning my old room. They were all taken with my old 110 mm camera when I was younger...probably about 12 years old. I scanned them and cleaned them up with Photoshop (they were kind of faint) and uploaded them to my Flickr account.

It's interesting to note the sort of pointlessly random things that a child will take photos of, when you give them a camera. That's not to say there aren't some very nice memories in here, but at the time I think I was still enjoying the wonder of taking snapshots and seeing what they look like. I skipped scanning some of the repeats- things I took pictures of more than once, and just grabbed the best ones.

The other roll is a vacation roll, and isn't nearly as interesting, but I'll blog it later.

This is yet another installment in my "don't forget the golden days" phase, which will end when I finish cleaning out my old room.

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. Or in this case, not repeat it. :)

This is my dad, back when he was younger and more able. In this picture he's doing his usual christmas-morning, continental breakfast.

Basket W007

A yummy decorative basket of stuff. The sticker on the photo means the people at the processing place took pity on me and felt the need to inform me that my film was too old. I think they gave me a free picture.

See the turtle and its enormous girth....

Part of my turtle. Possibly his head. I'm not really sure.

W007! Popcorn!

It was a time-honoured tradition to get pictures of our loot- in this case it's a set of popping corn and various seasonings. I think I was the only one who used this stuff, as everyone else thought the super-salty cheese powder was unbearable. I can remember many nights spent watching star trek and eating huge bowls of popcorn, with copious amounts of toppings on them.

More loot. The height of the Blue Jays fame. Boy, that didn't last long.

The Kiddy Tree

This is the 'kiddy tree'. It's actually the top of a very old artificial tree that my parents had when we lived on Fitzhugh (sp?) Lane. It was pretty much a broomstick with branches. In this case, it appears to be in my bedroom. I think this was the year that Debbie and I baked ornaments out of homemade clay.

Ack! Me with my chubby little pixie face, and my pre-braces teeth. I think I'm wearing a nightshirt, but I can't tell. I wonder who took this picture?

Felix and Milo

Felix and part of Milo, looking the same as ever. These mischievious brothers are still hanging 'round the old Baltimore place.

Milo, as pretty as ever. He has gorgeous long hair, and loves to be brushed. He's Felix's brother, and he's about 11 years old now. He's very shy, but very sweet. He takes good pictures.

Felix is handsome and photogenic. He's about 11 years old now, and he has been through two escapes, a broken leg, and the usual feline 'operations'. He's a milk addict and he loves to pretend he's a mountain lion. He always makes me feel welcome when I come home.

Side note: There were a lot of pictures of the cats in this roll. I was kind of a cat finatic when I was a kid, and I always had tons of posters of them in my room. So I guess it should come as no surprise that I took loads of pictures of mine.

This is Ember, Pam's old cat. She's not still around, bless her little heart, but she still lives in our hearts. She was a rarer breed known as the 'Devon Rex'

Damn it, I loved this Nutcracker. This MIGHT have been the year I got him, but more likely I only took the picture because he was my favourite christmas decoration.

Here's the tree. My parents recently (only this past christmas) replaced it with a newer one, and gave it to my brother and his new wife. I had been the biggest advocate for about six running to have the tree replaced, but oddly enough I was sad to see it go. It had a lot of memories- all of the cats at some point in their lives had attacked it, knocked it over, or de-tinseled it. It had been in every corner of the living room, and had been screwed to the floor numerous times.
